Choose public sources
Open Search in the assistant settings, enable it and select website or XML sources with destination URLs.

Match your website
Search inherits your assistant's color, theme, corners and language. Display results below the field or in a modal.

Copy the code to your website
Allow your domain and paste the generated HTML where you want search to appear. The script renders the field, sends requests and displays results.
You choose what visitors can find
Search exposes only the website and XML sources you select. Titles, excerpts and links come from your synchronized data.
Standalone MD, PDF, DOCX and text sources are not currently supported by Search. Every result needs a public HTTP(S) URL. Order data stays outside Search.
Suggestions use no AI responses
Autocomplete makes no AI calls. One successful confirmed AI search, including its optional summary, uses one response from your organization's plan.
If AI fails or the plan limit is reached, text results remain available without consuming a response.

Does our developer need to implement the POST request?
No. The embedded Informio script handles the field, suggestions, requests and results. Your website only needs the generated HTML.
Where do result links lead?
To the original page or feed item's URL. Search does not create destination pages. Content without a public URL is not shown as a result.
Can Search run alongside the chatbot?
Yes. Search has its own script and placement. It can use the same assistant as your chat widget, with knowledge sources managed in one place.
Can we build our own search interface?
Yes. Configuration, suggestion and result endpoints are available for custom interfaces. The developer guide includes examples and an OpenAPI contract.
