Informio now has a PrestaShop module: add an AI assistant without editing your theme
Connect PrestaShop to an Informio AI assistant with a ready-made module. Configure the widget, multilingual content and optional order status information in your store back office.
PrestaShop merchants no longer need to paste scripts into templates or build a custom integration. Informio now has an installable module that adds the AI assistant to the storefront, makes selected public content available to it and can optionally support secure questions about order status.
The current module version 1.2.1 supports PrestaShop 1.7.8 through 9.x. It installs as a standard ZIP package through Module Manager, and the important controls stay inside the store back office.
The module keeps the connection simple: the store remains in PrestaShop, knowledge and conversations are managed in Informio, and visitors receive help where they shop.
What the module adds to PrestaShop
An AI widget without theme edits
The module uses a native PrestaShop hook to insert the Informio widget before the end of the page. Enter the assistant's public 26-character ID and the connection is ready. No private API key is copied, and a theme update does not require editing templates again.
Three display modes are available: off, private administrator preview and visible to all visitors. You can first verify the assistant in your own browser and make it public only when its appearance and answers are ready.
Multilingual knowledge from store content
The module provides a protected Informio XML feed containing active CMS pages and public product categories in every enabled store language. Category records retain their title, public URL, description and breadcrumb path, helping the assistant understand where a customer should go.
Active questions from HiPresta Frequently Asked Questions Pro and published posts from HiPresta Business Blog Pro 1.7.x are supported as well. Products are deliberately not duplicated: keep using the store's existing Google Merchant or Heureka feed for product synchronisation, so each source has one clear purpose.
Optional order status questions
When enabled, a separate order feed covers a selected period of 30, 90, 180 or 365 days. Informio can work with the order number, current localised status, creation and shipping times, carrier, tracking number and ordered items.
A customer email address never leaves PrestaShop in readable form. The module normalises it and exports only a SHA-256 hash for secure matching. The endpoint is protected with Basic Auth, while its password is stored only as a password hash.
Install it in a few minutes
- Download the module. Use the current Informio for PrestaShop ZIP package.
- Upload it in the back office. Open Modules, Module Manager and choose Upload a module.
- Connect the assistant. Copy its public ID from Informio into the module settings.
- Use private preview. Check the widget and its answers before customers can see it.
- Add the knowledge source. Paste the content feed URL into Informio as an XML source. Enable the separate order feed only if order-status support is required.
After the first sync, test several real questions about delivery, returns, a specific category and a follow-up. Switch from private preview to all visitors only after those checks pass.
Security is part of the design
- The widget uses a public assistant ID rather than a private API key.
- The content feed has a random token and responds as unavailable when disabled or given an invalid token.
- The order feed is separate, disabled by default and requires its own credentials.
- Its password must contain at least 16 characters and is stored using password hashing.
- Only necessary data is transferred; customer email remains hashed.
Do not publish or send the feed credentials in messages, and use the order feed over HTTPS only. When the integration is no longer needed, disable it in the module and remove the corresponding source from Informio.
Who the module is for
It is particularly useful for merchants who want to launch an assistant without changing their theme and for agencies that manage several stores. The multilingual feed also fits sellers operating across markets. Administrators retain control over widget visibility and the sources used by the assistant.
The module does not turn AI into an order administrator and does not modify PrestaShop data. It gives the assistant controlled access to selected information so that it can guide customers, explain content and report a verified status. Informio can hand sensitive or unclear cases to a person.
